Kimberly Ho Misiaszek, Ph.D.
Dr. Kim is a clinical psychologist specializing in child and family traumatic stress, with a career spanning outpatient, inpatient, and residential facilities, domestic violence shelters, and joint community violence responses alongside law enforcement. She completed her pre- and postdoctoral fellowships at the Yale Child Study Center and holds a Master’s from NYU focused on children exposed to violence.
Rooted in psychodynamic and CBT perspectives, Dr. Kim’s work emphasizes strengthening the family unit by improving parent-child interactions and leveraging unique family strengths. She also has a background in academia as a former professor at the University of Miami, where she supervised, taught, and researched risk and resilience in youth and immigrants.
On a personal note, Dr. Kim is a mother of two and an active member of the Catholic community. She currently resides in Beijing, China, where her family moved for her husband’s diplomatic posting. When not writing, she stays grounded through reading, prayer, walking, and family time.
